Trying to finish some projects, trying not to start new projects, trying to stop signing up for test knits and trying to get some spinning in.
I did managed to finish my Rhinebeck Hat.
It still needs to be washed and blocked.
I started another test knit. I wanted to use some of the lovely yarn I won from Backyard Fiberworks.
I see another test knit that I want to do for AMBAH and I have the perfect yarn for it.
I joined another KAL. I got yarn for this shawl for Christmas.
I've managed to finish a pair of socks but not from the same pair. I got one of each done. LOL!
I got yarn. It was my birthday this month so of course that involves getting yarn.
My latest handspun and what is on the wheel right now.
This is my blog for my new business. I've been knitting since Feb 2009 after a break of 15+ years. I first learned from books but picked up again since my friend dyed the most beautiful yarns and I just couldn't collect them. I started to spin in Aug 2010 on a spindle and then on a Hansen Minispinner since Oct 2010. I started to weave Sept 2014 on an Emilia Glimakra Rigid Heddle Loom. I've been test knitting since 2011 and a sample knitter since 2016.

Last of the Sample Knits
A sample knit cowl. I had to send it on waste yarn (ran out before the end of the pattern).
A sample knit hat. I added a pom pom but didn't take a another picture. I liked how this came out.
This is a shawl with my handspun yarn. I hope I don't run out of the red/black. It takes 3 colors.
This is part of the Kindness KAL. I need to finish by March. KnitCircus is donating $5 for every shawl finished.
Love how this sock blank is knitting up! It's from Gale's Art.
This is what is on the wheel. Superwash Merino from Nest.

Time is running out!
For the most part, I can't show you what I'm working on since its a test knit for a future KAL. It's an interesting mixture of color and texture but I have to wait till the KAL is done before I can put up pictures. Meanwhile this is what else I've been up to.
Still working on this purple fiber. I think I'm more then half way through. It's from Hobbledehoy.
I added this to my fiber stash. Can't wai tto see how it spins up!
Added this fun yarn from The Fiber Seed. It's fingering weight called Funfetti. No, I don't have a pattern for it yet.
I finished a square for my patchwork triangle blanket!
I need to finish the second slipper and then felt them.
This is suppose to be a Christmas gift. I have this chart and then the edging to do.
This is one of those vanilla socks with a self striping yarn for my sock collection. These make great knitting projects to take while waiting for appointments.
Another vanilla sock pattern knitting from a sock blank for my daughter. I LOVE how the colors are showing up. You never know from the sock blank just how it will knit up.

Plugging Along!
Almost done these socks for my youngest. Just turned the heels on the 2nd pair. These are made with Knit Picks Felici in the colorway Rainbow. It's done with my go to Wendy Johnson pattern.
This is my first Dee O'Keefe shawl (Ashton Shawlette). The yarn is by Gourmet Stash which no long sells yarn or fiber. You can't see the sparkles in the yarn.
This is Watchet by Hunter Hammersen. I'm knitting it with a self striping yarn so I'm not sure how it will turn out. Right now it looks cool.
I had hope to finish this for the County Fair but the deadline will be September. We will see. I have plenty of shawls and hat to enter.
This is Alivia by Vanessa Smith. I can't wait till its finished.
I'm almost done this braid. I can't wait to see how it n-ply. So far I love the spin! It's The Big O by Gale's Art.

Back To the Regular Schedule
These socks need to be done for Christmas. I finally finished one and started the 2nd one. It's the 7 inches of ribbing that takes me forever. I have to take breaks from it.
On the spinning front. I got this BFL wool swirl at Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. It's called The Big O. I'm not usually crazy about BFL but I love the colors and how it feels.
One of my big projects. One more tentacle and then I can work the body of this Kraken scarf.
I seem to have one finished sock for all my sock projects. This is recycling of yarn that was used for leg warmers. One is done. Working on the 2nd. It's for someone with 10.5 size feet!
A beaded project. I think I have 13 more repeats then it will be short rows and go a lot faster.

Can't Help Myself
I got this neat double knit sock blank from Gale's Art during my trip to Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. I couldn't wait to start knitting on it. Double knit refers to that there are 2 strands of yarn so you can knit 2 socks at a time. I'm not crazy about knitting two at a time (I can't do both heels at the same time) so I decided to unwind it and separate them into 2 balls.
It took me some time since the yarn got tangled while I was separating it into 2 balls. I did finally get them into 2 balls and then wound them up (easier to knit then a ball that rolls around).
I started on them last night. I'm using my go to sock pattern from Wendy Johnson. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gusset-heel-basic-socks So far I like how its knitting up. It of course looks a lot different then the sock blank.
