Next Long Term Project

Since I finally finished my last of 3 robots, I decide to start another long term project.  I bought yarn to make two of these scarves.  It should make room in my yarn bin!

Needles:  Size 8 (I will be using size 6)

Sometimes You Just Have to Give Up

Certain projects of course.  Not knitting in general.  I've notice that certain patterns get done right away (sometimes being a part of a KAL helps).  There are a few of my projects are a years long.  A couple of blankets (which a know they are going to take a while using up scraps).  There have been a few cardigans and a shawl that have been LONG projects.  I decide to get rid of 2.  The one shawl has been lovely but complicated.  I work over 3 charts and since I don't work on it much, I tend to forget the order.  There are no rest rows and worst of all, I don't have enough yarn!  I tried to see if I could get more but the company has closed and it was a special lot of 2 skeins.  I have 750 yards and the pattern calls for 825 yards.  At the best of times, I run out of yarn with my loose knitting.  I figure the yarn should go for a smaller project.

The other project is this finger weight cardigan.  Again its a complicated edge which you have to remember the order of the rows so not something you can just pick up and keep going.  The other 2 cardigans are DK weight and Sport weight.  Also its been years in the process.  Luckily I just signed up for a test knit that I can use the yarn for!

When Is It Finished?

I considered my project to be done when the knitting it done.  I don't weave in the ends till after I block the project.  Some knitters don't consider an item done till its washed, blocked and ends weaved in.  I don't like blocking.  One of my issues is that I don't have much floor space to block.  Shawls take a lot of space.  I finally got around to washing & blocking a bunch of shawls that I've finished.  A few of these might be entries for the County and State Fairs.

Pictures?

You may of noticed that my pictures seem different.  Well, its due to the fact that my laptop finally decided to die.  I have a Kodak camera and since Kodak is no longer in business, I can't get software for my Surface.  It's been a learning curve using the photo software that comes with Windows 10.  The pictures seem brighter but its sometimes hard to get the colors right like the pink on the robot.

This was with the Windows 10 software.  I got the pink I wanted but then the background was pink.  There was a button with Kodak that I could click and say this was suppose to be white to get the colors right.

This again was with Windows 10 but the background is blue.

This was with the Kodak software.  The Kodak had a hard time with certain purples.  They would be more blue then purple.
