Spinning and Knitting

I've been spinning a rainbow.  I was running out of space on my bobbin so I had to break it up into 2.  It's thicker then my usually spinning and more nubs from the fiber.

I finished one of my test knits and working on another.  I need to stop signing up for them.  I will be sample knitting so that will put some of my projects on the back burner.  I so need to finish up some gifts and work on my business plan!

Yes, I Have a Problem

I'm almost done a test knit and I'm going to start another one today.

I'm on the last mosaic section of the Optimist Shawl test knit and then just a last lace section.

This is another Ambah design.  It's suppose to be knitted with a solid and gradient yarn.  I'm going to start with the brown, use the red for the bobbles and then finish off with the blue.

Wish Me Luck!

It's that time of the year again, County and State Fair!  Since I've won First Place in both fairs, the pressure is on to win again.  Last year I won Best Spinner.  I hope to win that again.  Below are my spinning entries.

On the left is Bee Mice Elf 100% BFL.  In the middle is Into The Whirled 50/30/20 Alpaca/Merino/Silk Blended Top. On the right is Loop! bump  Merino, nylon, and Angelina.

I didn't finish a pair of socks.  I've been just knitting vanilla socks so for the first time I didn't enter socks.  The socks usually win so I'm a bit worried.  I decided to submit some of my test knit hats instead and 2 shawls.  The dark blue green one is huge and took a long time (no rest rows on the back).  I hope to find out the results in November.

Planning For More....

Cactus Pin Cushions!!

Went to get more supplies.  I didn't like the glass pebbles on the side for the tall cactus so I got some moss to put around it.  More flower pins so people will know its a pin cushion.  Can't wait to get working on more of them.

Spinning A Rainbow!

I finally got all the fiber prep done and started on the red.  I got 2 bags of fiber from Becoming Art.  A hot rainbow and a cool rainbow.  I've been lusting over the gradient yarns.  I want to spin this up to my own rainbow and who knows what I'll knit with it when I'm done.

Oh, I finished my 50% merino and 50% yak.  I got 193 yards of fingering weight (19WPI) out of the 2.8 oz.  I now wish I had gotten more.

Ambah Designs

I first met Ambah during the Indie Design 2014 Gift-A-Long.  She was a moderator there.  She was so nice to me.  I knitted these fingerless gloves.

Then I test knitted http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lamina-wrap

I was luckily enough to test knit for a second time and it seems that I picked big wrap projects!

Then I knitted up this pattern with my handspun.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kallara

Third times is a charm!  I'm testing knitting a hat and it should be done tonight.

I hope to get a chance to test knit again!
