Heels Turned

I got around to turning the heels on my 2 pair of socks.  They will make great travelling knitting.  The complicated part is turn the heel after that its easy.  I don't mind shawls but most of my WIP are full of charts (which are not easy to do while travelling).  I have a double knit that isn't too hard but trying to keep to yarn cakes from tangling isn't a good thing while travelling either.

Planning Ahead

I have a new policy this year.  I must finish a project before starting a new one.  I just finally finished the last Indie GAL shawl so I wanted to start another project.  I decided on this since its with my handspun that won first place last year.  I will enter it into the County and State fair when its done.  Details:

Finally Done

I finally finished this shawl that I started before Christmas and was suppose to finish before New Year's Eve.  It wasn't hard but I do get tired of repeating the same 8 rows.

I Seem To Be Hitting the Heels!

It's weird that all my WIP socks are now that the heel increase before I turn the heel.  Here is some progress pictures.  I can't wait to turn the heel then its more mindless knitting.  The hard part is remembering that I'm on the heel increase and how I've set my row counter.  On some patterns its not a big deal since there is less then 10 rows but on the brown one the rows go up to 40 something so when the row counter is set to 17 that means row 1 increase on the back and row 7 on the front and not on row 17.

Progress!

I'm making progress but I don't see it being done by the end of the month.  I'm making a shawl out of this pattern:  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/icehouse  I'm also worried that I didn't get enough of the blue yarn.

Yarn:  Cascade Yarns Avalon in Red Orange and Blue Radiance.

I'm Not Going To Make It

This is the start of my Icehouse KAL.  The other piece was just a sample and I realized that I will have to knit and write out my pattern as I go.  I need 2 more knit rows and then I can start the pattern.  I won't be making the Feb 28th deadline for sure!

Hubby's Shark Scarf

This is my first double knit project that I started May 2014 and I hope to finish before winter 2015.  My hubby loves sharks so he is excited to get this scarf.  The problem is that in an hour I might get 3 rows done.  The pattern is very well written and once I wrote out the pattern for the repeat argyle pattern it went faster.  You have to knit the first stitch and then purl in the other color.  It gets more complicated when I get to end when it will say the same phrases in Chinese.

Super Bowl Sunday

Our plan is watching Kitten Bowl 2 on Hallmark Channel, Puppy Bowl and probably catch the kick off so we can have pork rinds (our Super Bowl tradition).  I also plan to n-ply this Julie Spin 100% Tussah Silk in colorway Glacier.
