Tour De Fleece 2017

Well, I only managed 1 skein of yarn and finish another after the Tour De Fleece was over.  My goal this year was to spin at least an hour each day.  I've been busy with sample knits so spinning has kind of gotten left behind on some days.  My usual goal is to spin every day.

My first skein was fiber I got from my birthday.  It was 4 oz of Superwash Merino Roving from Pigeon Roof Studios called Tropical Flower.  I got 275 yards of fingering weight yarn.

Next was 5 oz of SqueeZins from Treadle Handspun yarn along with almost 2 oz of sample fiber.  I got 478 yards of sport weight yarn.

I hope to spin more next year!

New Project Bag = New Project

I got a new project bag and of course I had to start a new project to use it!  I need to get a copy of the picture I took of the bag.  It's My Little Pony.  I do have a picture of the project though.

Details here:

Needles:  Size 6 circulars
Yarn:  Pigeonroof Studios Cassiopeia Lace singles in Pale Wisteria
Pattern:  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/thoth

I haven't gotten very far since I had to cast on 393 stitches!!  I have all of  Anna Dalvi's books and I finally started to knit one of the patterns from her book.  This pattern is from Ancient Egypt in Lace and Color.

Here is my My Little Pony bag!

What does 1231 yards of handspun look like?

I finally finished.  I have some left overs of the edge and border (on the left side).  The rest got used up.  It's big enough to be a lap blanket.  It's so nice to see my lovely handspun turned into a shawl though.  I really loved how this came out and the pattern is pretty easy.

Needles:  Size 7 circulars
Yarn:  Loop! BULLSEYE Bump in Indigo Inspiration, Pigeonroof Studios handcarded mixed fibre batts in Darkside,  PS merino/cashmere/nylon roving in TLS DARK GARDEN, PS Merino/Silk Roving 80/20 in Tidewater, JulieSpins JulieSpins Roving: 50% Alpaca, 30% Merino, 20% Silk in Prairie Calico and  Loop! Can't Help It!

I really need to be finishing up projects and not starting new ones.  I found this free pattern that would be great for my luxury handspun yarn that is 200 yards or less.  It's hard to find a nice pattern that needs less then 400 yards for a shawl.  I don't care for shawlettes.  I do so love knitting with my handspun.
