This is my blog for my new business. I've been knitting since Feb 2009 after a break of 15+ years. I first learned from books but picked up again since my friend dyed the most beautiful yarns and I just couldn't collect them. I started to spin in Aug 2010 on a spindle and then on a Hansen Minispinner since Oct 2010. I started to weave Sept 2014 on an Emilia Glimakra Rigid Heddle Loom. I've been test knitting since 2011 and a sample knitter since 2016.

Almost 3,000 yards!
I finally finished this HUGE Mermaid Blanket for my daughter. It took almost 3,000 yards of yarn. It's worsted weight held double. I couldn't knit on it during the hot Arizona summers. I'm so glad its done. She picked the colors.
Since I finished one blanket, I couldn't help but start another one. This one is a patchwork one. It will be a nice small project to take. I hope I will able to sew all the squares together when I'm done. I don't like sewing knitted pieces. Pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/patchwork-triangles
Here is another test knit hat. It shouldn't take long to finish. It will be interesting to see if the pattern gets lost with the variegated yarn or not.

Yes! I do have an issue
I like to start projects. Sometimes I will even finish projects that I just started rather then finish off a project that I started a couple of years ago. Yes, I do have projects that are 2 or more years old. I decided to show my daughter this Mermaid blanket and of course she wanted one. Off we went to Jo-Ann for the yarn (I don't keep washable worsted weight around even though my stash should have enough yarn). This is what she picked out. The two on the left are for the tail. You have to hold 2 strands of yarn for this blanket.
